Jun 19, 2018 · 1- when the car goes into 4 cylinder mode they close otherwise you would sound like a Honda ricer going down the street lol lol. 2- even if you are "on the gas" they still close above 3,500 to 4,000 rpm so GM can meet the noise standards. You can actually hear them close as the car shifts into higher gears. .
