2024 Mini 14 folding stock california legal

I have a pre- ban mini 14 with a folding stock - butler creek with the horrific pistol grip. I also have an ati stock with equally terrifying pistol grip. I plan on getting a wooden stock without all those scary features. My thinking is that in the wooden stock it's not a register required assault weapon - only scary feature would be a magazine..
