My first pregnancy I was dilated 3cm at 36 weeks and 4cm at my 38 week appt. At that 38 week appt the doctor asked me to come back in 2 days because he thought I was getting close. Sure enough, my water broke about 6 hours before my appt at 38+2. Kinda funny. I was 2cm dilated at 36 weeks. At 38 weeks still 2cm dilated but also 80%effaced. I gave birth at 38+4 (today) after my water broke last night. How exciting! Congratulations! I hope your L&D went smoothly. I would love to progress that quickly and give birth this week! Thanks for sharing.Dilation has progressed from last week. I chose to do cervical checks I know it doesn’t necessary indicate when birth is coming but I like to know. Last week at 36 weeks I was 1.5 cm 0% effaced and today at 37 weeks I’m 3 cm and 60% effaced so I do feel that is some progress.Although the cervix needs to dilate at least 10 centimeters for a vaginal delivery, cervical dilation of at least 2 to 3 centimeters often indicates that labor is 24 to 48 hours away. 8. Loosening ...Carlymoon member. September 2014. So I had my 38 wk check up today- baby was super low and I'm Dialated to 3. Dr did the membrane sweep around 4:30pm but other than some soreness and pressure I'm not feeling any contractions. He said he felt pretty confident he's see me around 3:30am. He gave me 70/30 odds. I'm feeling skeptical at this point....I was 2cm dilated at 36 weeks. At 38 weeks still 2cm dilated but also 80%effaced. I gave birth at 38+4 (today) after my water broke last night. How exciting!
