At my 36+2 appt on Monday I was 1cm and 70% effaced ...I have been *at least* 2cm dilated and 50% effaced since 36 weeks or before. I'm 38 weeks, 3 days today and still hanging in there despite all the signs that labor is emminent.Efacement is how thin your cervix is, and dialation is how open it is. I think 1cm is a cheerio.... Once your cervix is 100% effaced, it means its completely thin..... This link might explain it better.... I was 85% effaced at 36 weeks. I am now .5cm dilated and 90% effaced and 2 days overdue.When i was 36 weeks i had to be induced to preeclampsia and it made me 2cm dilated. for unnessary reasons they sent me home after inducing mw for two days. came back 5 days later to get induced again and was still 2cm. 1 or 2 cm dont really mean anything 4 or 5 does. it just means your bodys preparing for baby! have fun and good luck!Nov 16, 2020 ...
